Lady Raiders host McCreary Central Invitational; North Laurel wins title

STEARNS – The McCreary Central volleyball team hosted an invitational tournament on Saturday. During the McCreary Central Invitational, the Lady Raiders notched wins over Jellico (Tenn.) and Berea while dropping matches to South Laurel, Estill County and North Laurel.

The Lady Raiders blanked Berea 2-0 on Saturday. In a dominant outing, McCreary Central rolled 25-7, 25-9 in back-to-back sets over the Lady Pirates.

McCreary Central outlasted Jellico 2-1, winning 25-13, 20-25, 25-20.

North Laurel won the McCreary Central Invitational championship, edging South Laurel 2-1 (21-25, 25-21, 25-15) in the title match.

The Lady Jaguars remained perfect following their appearance in the high school volleyball tournament. North Laurel carried a 7-0 record out of the McCreary Central Invitational.
