McCreary Central defeats Lynn Camp, falls to Southwestern

The McCreary Central Lady Raiders split matches earlier in the week, defeating Lynn Camp then falling to Southwestern.

McCreary Central, under the direction of Coach Wade Davis, shut out Lynn Camp 3-0 on Monday.

The Lady Raiders topped Lynn Camp in three sets, prevailing 25-12, 25-4, 25-6.

McCreary Central beat Lynn Camp for its fifth win in the 2017 season.

Then, one day after hosting Lynn Camp, McCreary Central ventured to Pulaski County for a match versus Southwestern. Host Southwestern turned in a dominant performance to blank McCreary Central 3-0 (25-14, 25-9. 25-18).

With the loss to Southwestern, McCreary Central slipped to 5-5.

The Lady Raiders are scheduled to meet Adair County and Madison Southern in the Berea Lady Pirates Invitational on Saturday. Berea will welcome in teams from several different regions for its early-season high school volleyball tournament during the upcoming weekend.

McCreary Central has additional regular-season matches remaining versus Cumberland County, East Jessamine. Lincoln County, Williamsburg, Wayne County, Jellico (Tenn.), Bell County, Southwestern, Clinton County, Russell County, Barbourville and Lynn Camp. The Lady Raiders are slated to visit Lynn Camp for a regular-season finale on Oct. 5.

At press time, McCreary Central boasted more wins than any other 12th Region volleyball team.
