Lady Raider Soccer benefiting from balanced scoring
STEARNS – Through seven games, five different players have provided scoring for the McCreary Central girls’ soccer team.
Currently, Rylie King leads McCreary Central with four goals. King is one of two Raiders who have netted multiple goals thus far in the 2017 season.
Makenzie Cox has scored three goals for the Raiders.
Aiding the McCreary Central scoring attack, Laura Hamilton, Bradley Powell and Molly Phillips have netted one goal apiece through seven games.
McCreary Central (3-4-1 overall, 0-2-0 in the 47th District), under the direction of head coach Jennifer Stogsdill, has posted wins over Clinton County, Knox Central and Bell County while dropping games to Somerset, Scott (Tenn.), Whitley County and Pulaski County.
The Raiders’ remaining regular-season schedule shapes up as follows: Aug. 31 vs. Casey County, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 2 vs. Somerset, 1 p.m.; Sept. 4 vs. Knox Central, 6 p.m.; Sept. 8 vs. Clinton County, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 9 at Lincoln County, 1:30 p.m.; Sept. 12 vs. Bell County, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 14 at Casey County, 6 p.m.; Sept. 16 at Wayne County, 1 p.m.; Sept. 18 at Whitley County, 6 p.m.; Sept. 19 vs. Pulaski County, 6 p.m.; Sept. 21 vs. Middlesboro, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 25 Garrard County, 6:30 p.m.; Sept. 28 at Southwestern, 6 p.m.
McCreary Central competes in the 47th District and 12th Region. The Raiders will take the field for the 47th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament in October.
