Lady Raiders Volleyball finishes 1-3 in tournament

BEREA – McCreary Central compiled a 1-3 record in the Berea Lady Pirates Invitational on Saturday. This year’s Berea Lady Pirates Invitational included teams from several regions.
The Raiders, under the guidance of head coach Wade Davis, exited the weekend with a 6-8 overall record. McCreary Central is currently 0-1 in the 48th District.
McCreary Central outlasted Adair County 2-1 (18-25, 25-21, 15-7) for its lone win in the Berea Lady Pirates Invitational. The Raiders dropped games to Garrard County, Madison Southern and Powell County in the Berea-hosted high school volleyball tournament.
Garrard County defeated McCreary Central 2-9 (25-17, 25-20) in the Berea Lady Pirates Invitational. In another match in the Berea tournament, Madison Southern blanked the Raiders 2-0 (25-14, 25-19).
McCreary Central pushed Powell County for a win but fell short as the Lady Pirates prevailed 2-0 (25-21, 25-16) in the Berea Lady Pirates Invitational.
The Raiders opened the season 2-1 and had won four of their first seven games.
McCreary Central is slated to visit Cumberland County at 6 p.m. on Thursday. The Raiders are scheduled to host Cumberland County in another game on Sept. 12.
McCreary Central has additional regular-season games remaining versus East Jessamine, Lincoln County, Williamsburg, Wayne County, Jellico (Tenn.), Bell County, Southwestern, Clinton County, Russell County, Barbourville and Lynn Camp.
