Lady Raider Soccer to host Clinton & Lincoln County

 

The McCreary Central girls’ soccer team is preparing to host back-to-back home games. The Raiders are slated to host Clinton County at 6:30 p.m. on Friday then entertain Lincoln County at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Much-improved McCreary Central has already equaled its win total from the 2016 season. McCreary Central concluded the 2016 campaign 3-17-0 following a shutout loss in the opening round of the postseason.

The Raiders are 3-4-0. McCreary Central has posted wins over Clinton County, Knox Central and Bell County. The Raiders have dropped games to Somerset, Scott (Tenn.), Whitley County and Pulaski County.

McCreary Central slipped to 3-4-0 following a loss to Pulaski County on Monday, Aug. 28.

Through seven games, Rylie King ranks as McCreary Central’s leading scorer with a team-high four goals. Directly behind King in the McCreary Central scoring column, Makenzie Cox has netted three goals.

Opponents have limited McCreary Central to 11 goals in seven games.

The Raiders are under the direction of head coach Jennifer Stogsdill and compete in the 47th District.

McCreary Central has additional regular-season games remaining versus Bell County, Casey County, Wayne County, Whitley County, Pulaski County, Middlesboro, Garrard County and Southwestern.

The Raiders will compete in the 47th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament in October.
