Dennis and His K9 Partner

McCreary County Sheriff’s Deputy Derek Dennis and his K9 partner Lyon recently completed a four-day training event in Mt. Sterling to gain national certification with the Nation Narcotic Detector Dog Association and National Association of Professional Canine Handlers. The training reinforces previous training, but also gives the officers and Sheriff Randy Waters access to a greater range of resources when dealing with canine-officer related cases. “I am very proud of Deputy Dennis and Lyon for gaining this certification,” Sheriff Waters said. “The training will be a great asset to this department.”
