McCreary Central edges Middlesboro, 1-0

McCreary Central edged visiting Middlesboro 1-0 in a girls’ high school soccer game on Thursday (Sept. 21).

The Lady Raiders, under the direction of head coach Jennifer Stogsdill, competed in their third game in four days.

McCreary Central returned to the win column after dropping back-to-back games to Whitley County and 47th District rival Pulaski County.

With the win, McCreary Central improved to 8-6.

Middlesboro, an opponent out of the neighboring 12th Region, dropped to 3-8-1 with the loss. The Lady Jackets are under the guidance of head coach Quinton Mason. Middlesboro competes in the 50th District.

McCreary Central has posted additional wins over Clinton County, Knox Central, Bell County and Wayne County during the current campaign.

The Lady Raiders will compete in the 47th District Girls’ Soccer Tournament in October.
