The Lady Raiders suffered a tough loss Tuesday night as they hosted Clinton County.
McCreary Central couldn’t claim a win on its home floor earlier in the week. Visiting Clinton County managed to shut out the Lady Raiders 2-0 in a non-district volleyball match on Tuesday.
With the loss, McCreary Central slipped to 9-15.
Clinton County improved to 14-13 with the win.
Faring well early, Clinton County topped McCreary Central 25-13 in the first set.
After opening the match with a a convincing win, Clinton County finished strong, downing McCreary Central 25-10 in the final set.
McCreary Central has regular-season matches remaining versus Wayne County, Russell County, Barbourville and Lynn Camp. The Lady Raiders are slated to host Wayne County on Thursday, Sept. 28.
McCreary Central will compete in the 48th District Volleyball Tournament in October.
Southwestern 3, McCreary Central 0: Visiting Southwestern blanked McCreary Central 3-0 in a 48th District volleyball match on Thursday, Sept. 21.
Southwestern prevailed 25-14, 25-8, 25-11 over the Lady Raiders.
Longtime rivals, Southwestern and McCreary Central could meet again in the postseason.
