McCreary Central suffers shutout loss to Garrard County
The McCreary Central Lady Raiders dropped back into the loss column earlier in the week. Visiting Garrard County pulled away to defeat McCreary Central 10-0 in a girls’ high school soccer game on Monday.
With the loss, McCreary Central slipped to 8-7.
Garrard County, a 12th Region foe out of the 45th District, improved to 6-8 with the win.
Marianna Cortez led Garrard County to the win, scoring eight goals.
Accompanying Cortez in the Garrard County scoring column, Dilyn Twisdale and Emma Warren netted one goal apiece for the Lady Lions.
Defensively for Garrard County, goalkeeper Vanessa Hume held Garrard County scoreless.
McCreary Central is scheduled to visit Southwestern for a late-season girls’ high school soccer match on Thursday, Sept. 28. The Lady Raiders are slated to host Casey County for a regular-season finale on Oct. 2.
