STEARNS – McCreary Central halted a losing skid earlier in the week, blanking Barbourville 3-0 in a late-season high school volleyball match on Tuesday.
But that wasn’t before suffering a shutout loss to Russell County.
Host Russell County pulled away to defeat McCreary Central 2-0 on Monday, prevailing 25-14, 25-2.
Russell County dealt McCreary Central its fourth straight loss.
The Lady Raiders, under the direction of head coach Wade Davis, notched a win one day later. McCreary Central blanked Barbourville 3-0 on Tuesday, winning 25-2, 25-15, 25-7.
McCreary Central beat Barbourville for its 10th win.
With the win over Barbourville, McCreary Central improved to 10-17.
McCreary Central has posted additional wins over Clinton County, Bell County, Berea, Jellico (Tenn.), Lynn Camp, Adair County, Williamsburg and Cumberland.
Productive McCreary Central is one victory away from equaling its win total from the 2016 season. McCreary Central concluded the 2016 campaign 11-24 following a loss to Wayne County in the opening round of the 48th District Volleyball Tournament.
The Lady Raiders will compete in the 48th District Volleyball Tournament later in the month.
