MCHS boys’ X-Country Team finishes fifth Fall Classic

MONTICELLO – McCreary Central finished fifth in the Wayne County-hosted Cave Lake Fall Classic at Cave Lake Park on Saturday.

Productive McCreary Central competed against several accomplished teams during the Cave Lake Fall Classic.

The Raiders finished behind Pulaski County, East Jessamine, Corbin and meet winner North Laurel. McCreary Central placed ahead of Whitley County, Wayne County, Casey County, South Laurel, Johnson Central, Jackson County, Williamsburg, Somerset, Russell County, Alvin C. York Institute, Southwestern, Lincoln County and Berea as 18 boys’ teams participated in the high school cross country meet.

Jordan Tucker was McCreary Central’s top individual finisher, placing just outside of the Top 10 in the 11th position.

On the girls’ side for McCreary Central, Destiny King and Cortney Phillips placed 53rd and 71st, respectively. King finished the meet in in 27:51.81 while Phillips completed the event in 31:08.22.
