McCreary Central Headed to State

MONTICELLO – McCreary Central placed fourth in the Class 2A, Region 5 Boys’ Cross Country Meet at Cave Lake Park on Saturday.
The meet, hosted by Wayne County, featured a dozen different boys’ high school cross country squads from throughout the region.
McCreary Central placed behind East Jessamine, Corbin and champion Boyle County. The Raiders finished ahead of Wayne County, Casey County, Bell County, Rockcastle County, Knox Central, Russell County, Lincoln County and Mercer County.
Individually, senior Jordan Tucker paced McCreary Central by finishing 15th in 18:18.34.
Bell County senior Mitchell Miracle finished first in 17:04.80.
Six different McCreary Central runners finished inside the Top 50.

The team performance qualified the Raider Runners to advance to the State Cross Country Championship event, held this Saturday at the Kentucky Horse Park in Lexington. 10 MCHS runners will participate.
