McCreary Central places 12th in State Meet

LEXINGTON – McCreary Central senior Jordan Tucker finished 23rd in the Class 2A State Cross Country Meet at the Kentucky Horse Park in on Saturday. Tucker finished the 5,000 meter run in 17:37.42.

Christian Academy (Louisville) senior Steven Ott won the Class 2A championship by finishing the race in 16:07.03.

Lexington Catholic captured the team title.

Turning in a solid performance, McCreary Central placed 12th in the team standings.

Head coach Trevor Tucker guided the Raiders to the 12th place finish.
Complete individual results for the McCreary Central boys’ cross country team were as follows: 23. Jordan Tucker, 17:37.42; 74. Aiden Tucker, 18:34.94; 81. Harley Waters, 18:38.30; 123. Tyler Strunk, 19:14.21; 140. Ethan New, 19:31.87; 167. Christopher Gearing, 19:58.26; 243. Peyton Ross, 23:15.46.

Along with McCreary Central, Christian Academy (Louisville) and Lexington Catholic, Fleming County, Warren East, Taylor County, Western Hills, Boyd County, North Oldham, Bell County, Boyle County, Corbin, Hart County, Highlands, East Jessamine, Russell, Franklin County, Nelson County, Thomas Nelson, Webster County, Wayne County, Casey County, Scott, Bourbon County, Elizabethtown, Mason County, John Hardin, Hopkins County Central, Martha Layne Collins, Rowan County, Bardstown, Henry County, Franklin-Simpson, East Carter, Spencer County, Knox Central, Calloway County, Rockcastle County, Fort Campbell, Pendleton County, Paducah Tilghman, Allen County-Scottsville, LaRue County, Ashland Blazer, Shelby Valley, Perry County Central, Trigg County, DeSales, Powell County, Letcher County Central, Doss, Knott County Central and Magoffin County competed in the Class 2A State Cross Country Meet.
