4 McCreary residents busted in Tennessee

Four McCreary County natives were arrested last week on drug charges in Huntsville after more than 26 grams of methamphetamine were found in a vehicle.

Arch and Brenda Angel, of Parkers Lake, along with Beverly and Larry Risner, of Pine Knot were taken in to custody on Saturday, November 4, after a traffic stop by Tennessee authorities.

All four were charged with possession of methamphetamine for resale, trafficking, possession of methamphetamine, felony possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of marijuana and violation of the drug free school zone.

According to the arrest citation the individuals were occupants of the 2006 Hyundai Sonata, which was pulled over for a broken tail light.

Beverly Risner, 50, the driver of the vehicle, reportedly appeared nervous, prompting the officers to request a search of the vehicle. Inside the car officers located several bags of suspected meth, a small bag of marijuana and various items of drug paraphernalia. Arch Angel, 63, was found to have another bag of meth and two syringes in his possession.

Angel reportedly claimed all the drugs were his, but further discussion prompted him to recant his claim. The other individuals also refused ownership. As a result all four were arrested and lodged in the Scott County Jail.
