Historical figures come to life

Mrs. Barbara Thomas’ 6 th Grade class from Whitley City Elementary presented a wax museum of historical figures last Friday. The sixth graders were challenged to research their chosen character, develop their character’s costume, create the back drop for their character, and write and present a script depicting their character’s life and accomplishments. The students rose to the occasion, coming to life and presenting their speech to each group that approached. From Rosa Parks to Henry Ford, Amelia Earhart to Lewis and Clark, Dwight D. Eisenhower to Jim Bowie, the students did an amazing job of bringing to life historical figures from out past. Forty-eight 6th grade students dressed as historical figures brought history to life and fun to learning. See more photos on page 3B.
