Christmas at the Cabin

Another year is quickly rolling by and it’s time for the Mountain Craft Center to host our wonderful Christmas at the Cabin open house! Both historical log buildings are decorated inside and out. Our association members have been busy creating the very best and unique seasonal decorations for your tree and home.

The hot chocolate, coffee and cider are warming and no open house would be complete without delicious complimentary treats with some seasonal music in the air.

We also have a huge selection of hand made quality art and crafts that will make wonderful one-of-a kind gifts for your family, co-workers, teachers and friends. Our prices range from fifty cents to hundreds of dollars and everything in between. So we have both lovely, inexpensive gift ideas and absolutely exquisite high end products.

We’ll be ready to assist you in any way we can to find the perfect gift for the special people on your list. How about a hand painted tiny gourd made by Pam for a special Secret Santa gift or Cumberland Falls painted onto a glass ornament by Charline? Danny Duty makes unique, one of a kind, large wooden bowls from poplar. We have the very best soy candles from Angel Wings Candles and priced to buy more than one. You’ll not find any art more amazing than the hand carved, wood burned gourds enhanced with pine needle weaving from Carol Skaggs and her charming painted glass items just to mention a few. Karen Trammell tries to keep us stocked with a bank or two made from cedar and post office boxes keyed or combination. We have some special people who make crochet dolls, angels, Afghans and the very best cross stitch or embroidery you can find anywhere. Of course we have wood crafts and wonderful hand strung beaded items, jewelry and baskets. We have the best selection of photos by Doug McCoy and Charline Marrinan, both water color and acrylic paintings by several artists. This is just a small list of wonderful items available from more than fifty artisans.

All are welcome and invited to enjoy a warm relaxed shopping atmosphere at Christmas at the Cabin, December 2nd from 10am – 5pm at the Mountain Craft Center on Hwy 90 about five miles west of Cumberland Falls State Park. Come spend a delightful time browsing our beautiful buildings and the truly special art, crafts and antiques within.
