November receipts from the McCreary County Occupational Tax were down over previous years, but the average monthly collection still project to a total collection for the year over $1.1 million.
According to the Judge Executive’s Office November collections totaled $91,684.25 for the month. Of that, $30,561.42 will automatically be transferred to the Jail Fund – leaving actual collections added to the General Fund at $61,122.83.
For the previous three November collections the County averaged over $74,000 each month, making 2017 the lowest total collection since 2013.
Over the first five months of the fiscal year the General Fund has added $470,467 in receipts from the tax, about $2,0000 more than last year at this time.
With an average monthly collection of over $94,000, projections for the year total about $1,129,000 – more than projected in the 2017-18 budget, but slightly behind totals for the past two fiscal years.
Jail Fund receipts from the tax total $235,233 over the past five months- projecting to about $564,000 for the year.
