RECC warns members of scam

South Kentucky RECC release details of a new phone scam targeting people in McCreary County, urging customers to be vigilant when asked to release personal information over the phone.
The scam involves members receiving phone calls demanding immediate payment of a bill or immediate cut off of electric service.
RECC states they do not call members unless it is after business hours, and only use an automated call system to do so.
They ask customers to not reveal any information over the phone and call their local office to check on their account status.
