Lady Raiders drop regular season finale to West Jessamine

NICHOLASVILLE – McCreary Central fell short in its bid to beat host West Jessamine in a regular-season finale over the weekend. West Jessamine held on to defeat the Lady Raiders 54-46 in a regular-season finale on Saturday.
With the loss, McCreary Central concluded its regular-season 9-21.
West Jessamine improved to 10-15 with the win.
Productive West Jessamine shot 40 percent (20-of-50) from the field. The Colts won despite finishing 2-of-19 from 3-point range.
West Jessamine shot 63.2 percent (12-of-19) from the free throw line.
Faith Osborne led West Jessamine with 21 points. West Jessamine featured a pair of scorers in double figures as Madlynn McDonald, an underrated player for the Colts, added 14 points in the triumph.

McKenzie Ivey posted six points while Haylee Rutherford and Alleyse Steinkuhl chipped in four points apiece for the Colts.
Delaysia Thomas and Asia Montgomery rounded out the West Jessamine individual scoring, finishing with three points and two points, respectively.
Steinkuhl led West Jessamine on the backboards, grabbing a game-high 13 rebounds.
McCreary Central shot 30.2 percent (16-of-53) from the field. The Lady Raiders were 3-of-19 (15.8 percent) from 3-point range.
McCreary Central shot 57.9 percent (11-of-19) from the free throw line.
Elizabeth Anderson led McCreary Central with a double-double, scoring 10 points and pulling down 11 rebounds.
Anderson was the only McCreary Central player to reach double figures in the scoring column.
Allyson Anderson and Julia King scored eight points apiece for McCreary Central in the setback.
Rounding out the McCreary Central individual scoring, Makenzie Cox contributed five points, Lauryn Phillips added four points and Emily Anderson netted two points for the Lady Raiders.

Following the regular-season finale versus West Jessamine, McCreary Central quickly turned its focus to the postseason.
