MONTICELLO – McCreary Central was well-represented on the All-48th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament Team. Lady Raiders Allyson Anderson and Elizabeth Anderson represented McCreary Central on the 48th District All-Tournament Team.
Wayne County, playing on its home floor, prevented McCreary Central from advancing in the postseason, edging the Lady Raiders 51-48 in the opening round of the 48th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Monday, Feb. 19. The loss forced McCreary Central’s 2017-18 season to end.
Southwestern topped Wayne County 64-45 in the 48th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament on Thursday, Feb. 22. Both Southwestern and Wayne County advanced to the 14th Region Girls’ Basketball Tournament.
Allyson Anderson, a sophomore guard, poured in a game-27 points and grabbed four rebounds in McCreary Central’s loss to Wayne County in the 48th District Girls’ Basketball Tournament. She drained four 3-point field goals for the Lady Raiders.
Accompanying her teammate in double figures for the Lady Raiders, Elizabeth Anderson, a freshman forward/guard, added 12 points and nine rebounds for the Lady Raiders, narrowly missing a double-double.
