Sheriff’s Department awarded a grant

McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters, Judge Executive Doug Stephens and Emergency Management Director Stephen McKinney announced Tuesday the Sheriff’s Department has been awarded a grant through the USDA Rural Development Office to purchase a new police cruiser for the department. The grant, totaling $24,140 will be used to obtain a 2018 Dodge Charger Police Cruiser, fully equipped for duty. The Sheriff will provide $8,051 in matching funds for the grant. Final paperwork for the grant is expected to be completed this week, and the new vehicle should be in service within a few weeks.
