Raiders drop opener to Williamsburg

WILLIAMSBURG – McCreary Central dropped its season opener on the road at Williamsburg. Host Williamsburg blanked the Raiders 3-0 in six innings in a high school baseball season opener on Monday evening.
McCreary Central opened its 2018 season 0-1 while Williamsburg started the new prep baseball campaign 1-0.
Individual statistics from the McCreary Central-Williamsburg baseball game were unavailable at press time.
High school baseball teams from throughout the state are taking the field for early-season games.
McCreary Central is slated to visit Scott (Tenn.) on Thursday and Berea on Friday. The Raiders are due to host both Bell County and Leslie County on Saturday.
McCreary Central has additional regular-season games scheduled through mid-May. The Raiders are slated to host Williamsburg for a regular-season finale on May 18. McCreary Central will compete in the 48th District Baseball Tournament in late-May.
