McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters reports four individuals have been charged with drug-related crimes as a result of two separate incidences this week.
Sheriff Waters states the first incident occurred early Sunday morning when a Strunk man was charged after officers found more than 20 grams of cocaine in his residence. Ameen Neer, 36, was arrested and charged with several drug-related charges after the discovery.
Sheriff Waters stated Deputy Greg Chaney responded to a call on E KY 1470 around 1:20 a.m. Sunday concerning a subject causing a disturbance with family members at the residence. The caller stated Meer had been fighting and threatening family members, and had locked himself in a room and proceeded to break windows and household objects. Sheriff Waters responded to the scene as well after the Deputy requested back up to deal with the volatile situation.
When the officers arrived they managed to calm Meer down and spoke with him, learning he had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear. After he was taken in to custody officers received permission to search the residence where they found over 20 grams of suspected cocaine, about half a gram of suspected methamphetamine, a pill and drug paraphernalia – including used needles and spoons with white residue on them.
Meer was charges with criminal mischief, disorderly conduct, menacing, possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance (cocaine), possession of a controlled substance (meth), and possession of drug paraphernalia, in addition to the outstanding warrant.
The second incident occurred Wednesday morning after officers executed a search warrant at a residence on Mose Musgrove Road. Sheriff Waters reports that during the execution of the warrant Deputy Alex Jones entered a trailer on the property and saw a subject attempting to throw a bottle with a white crystal substance inside. A further search of the trailer located three bags of a crystal substance and a glass pipe. Danny Wayne Clark, 40, of Stearns was arrested and charged with tampering with physical evidence, trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Meanwhile officers were searching the residence and located a box containing marijuana and three large bags of suspected methamphetamine. Two individuals, identified as Karleann N. Davis, 20, of Pine Knot, and Dustin M. Spradlin, 30, of Pine Knot, were arrested on charges of trafficking in a controlled substance and possession of drug paraphernalia. Davis was also charged with trafficking in marijuana.
Deputies Alex Jones, Charles Perry, Terry Baker, Tommy Lewis, Constable Bill Hayes and Trooper Shaler Jones assisted at the scene.
A subjects were lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
