Raiders blank Oneida Baptist Institute, 13-0

ONEIDA – Evan Kidd pitched a shutout as McCreary Central defeated Oneida Baptist Institute 13-0 in five innings in a high school baseball game on Saturday. Kidd threw a one-hitter, limiting Oneida Baptist Institute throughout the mid-season matchup.
The Raiders and Mountaineers are longtime rivals. A team out of the neighboring 13th Region, Oneida Baptist Institute hails from the nearby 49th District.
McCreary Central notched its third straight win while dealing Oneida Baptist Institute a fourth consecutive loss.
With the win, McCreary Central improved to 4-3.
Oneida Baptist Institute dropped to 1-6 with the loss.
McCreary Central claimed the victory thanks to seven runs in the fifth inning. Kidd, Connor Campbell, Riley Richmond and Thaddeus Baird each delivered RBIs for McCreary Central during the fifth frame.
Kidd allowed zero runs on one hit, struck out nine and walked one over five innings on the mound.
Tyler Miller took the loss for Oneida Baptist Institute. Miller allowed five hits and 13 runs over five innings, striking out six.
Kidd, Campbell, Richmond, Grant Hamner and Austin Vanover each managed one hit to lead the Raiders’ offensive effort.
Orrin Frost accounted for Oneida Baptist Institute’s lone hit.
The McCreary Central and Oneida Baptist Institute baseball teams aren’t scheduled to meet again during the current high school baseball season.
