By the Mountain Craft Center
The members of the Mountain Craft Center on Hwy 90 five miles west of Cumberland Falls is excited about our Artist Spotlight for May. Terri Cash is a wonderful addition to our membership! Terri has been with us over a year now and is a very active volunteer in the Center.
Terri can usually be found shop keeping at the Mountain Craft center most Fridays as she passes the time crocheting some pretty project and is always happy to sub for any of our other volunteers. She has been a resident of Somerset for eighteen years along with her husband, step son and daughter. Terri’s daughter, Liz, often comes with her for a day in the country.
Ms. Cash spent some time in the Air Force which gave her interesting experiences as she lived in multiple states such as Nebraska, California, Texas, Oklahoma and Pennsylvania. She has also worked retail positions. Terri is quite fond of Nebraska, as you might tell by her ‘Huskers’ tee-shirt in the photo. And, that’s ok since she will also be seen in a KY shirt.
Her talents are just as varied as her life around the country. Displayed in our Center is Terri’s beautiful, framed counted cross stitch pictures, many lovely crocheted items and stamped embroidery. She also does sewing projects, quilting and enjoys drawing. Her embroidered tea towels and crocheted angels have been purchased by many for gifts to sisters and friends for Mother’s Day. Terri also has some lovely beaded rosaries and necklaces in the Center.
As with most of our volunteers, Terri truly enjoys spending time in our historical log cabins. She’ll tell you what a sweet comforting atmosphere there is here, and all of us manage to make a little time for a porch swing break. Thank you, Terri for all the ways you help make our Center beautiful, and for your many hours keeping the doors open for our guests.
