Hunter Jones signs with Campbellsville University-Somerset

STEARNS – McCreary Central High School standout Hunter Jones made his college choice official on Thursday, May 17, signing with the Campbellsville University-Somerset men’s basketball program.
Joining Jones for a signing ceremony at McCreary Central High School were his parents, Vickie and Anthony Jones; grandparents, Bruce and Brenda Butler and Karen Jones; and his nephew, Lincoln. Also joining Jones for the signing ceremony were McCreary Central High School teammates, friends, MCHS Coach Jimmy Voight, Campbellsville University-Somerset Coach Greg Gover, and MCHS and CU-S administrators.
During his senior season, Jones averaged 16.5 points and 4 rebounds per game for the McCreary Central boys’ basketball team. As a senior, Jones scored 479 points and pulled down 117 rebounds. Jones shot 48.4 percent (44-of-91) from 3-point range and 79.4 percent (108-of-136) from the free throw line.
Jones plans on majoring in Sports Management with a minor in Business and continuing a career in athletics as a basketball coach.
