Fun with the Homemakers

The McCreary County Extension Agency with Extension Agent Amy Fugate and McCreary County Homemakers’ Club recently hosted the Lake Cumberland Area Homemakers’ Annual Meeting at the Stearns Heritage Community Hall. One hundred and fourteen members from a ten county area attended along with representatives from the National Forest and Cumberland Falls State Park.
The theme for the meeting was hiking and the amazing outdoor hiking adventures of McCreary County were spotlighted for the guests through photos and souvenir bags put together by McCreary County Tourism. Guest speakers also shared information about McCreary County.
Kristina McFeeters, of Kristina’s Kitchen in Whitley City, catered a picnic themed luncheon and also a conducted a cooking demonstration on campfire cooking. While in Stearns, the homemakers toured local shops and attractions.
