Duncan announces write-in bid

A new contender for the November election has emerged as Barbara Duncan has registered with the County Clerk to run as a write-in for the District 2 Magistrate seat.
Duncan will run against incumbent Roger Phillips, who won the May was running unopposed for the General Election.å
Duncan’s registration brings the number of write-in candidates to six this November. She joins Donnie Smith for Constable District 1, Freddie Clark for Constable District 2, Bobby W. Strunk for District 3 Magistrate, as well as Gus Skinner and James Tapley for Sheriff.
Write-ins will not appear on the ballot this fall. Voters will have to write in their names on the space provided on the ballot to cast their vote for a write-in.
Any potential write-in candidates have until Friday, October 26th to register with County Clerk Eric Haynes or the Secretary of State to be eligible to be considered as an official candidate.
