Lifting for a cause

Nine members of the Dynabody Gym competed this past weekend in a charity lifting event to benefit Hannah’s Care Packages, a charity dedicated to delivering care packages to parents of children with chronic or life-threatening illnesses to use during lengthy hospital stays.
Out of 60 overall competitors, Dynabody’s Josh Gregory and Darci Ball won best overall awards for their performances. Gregory lifted a total of 2,066 pounds across four events, and Ball topped her division with over 826 pounds total lifted.
The event was sponsored by Iron Mafia and held at CrossFit Strode Station in Winchester, with all of the more than $6,000 raised going toward Hannah’s Care Packages. If you would like more information about Hannah’s Care Packages you can go to http://www.hannahscarepackages.org.
Other local lifters who competed, and their overall results were: Tabitha Cox (843.26 pounds), Josh Renfro (1,394.41 lbs), Don Cox (1,548.73 lbs), John Canada (1,262.13 lbs), Josh King (1,934.54 lbs) and Chuck Wyatt (1,488.1 lbs). Trysten Adkins competed in two bench events, lifting over 555 pounds.
