Less than two weeks remain for potential McCreary County Board of Education candidates to officially register for the November 12 General Election.
Two of the five seats will be on the ballot this fall, Districts 2 and 4.
To date only one candidate has filed to run for the School Board, Lori Foster. Foster has registered for the 4th Educational District seat, currently occupied by Rhonda Armijo.
Neither Armijo, nor Brandon Kidd, current District 2 representative and Chairman of the Board, have yet to officially file as of press time.
School Board candidates have until Tuesday, August 14 to register at McCreary County Clerk Eric Haynes’ Office to appear on the ballot in November.
No new write-ins have declared for other races since the last update, leaving the total number of write-ins at six for this fall.
Write-ins will not appear on the ballot. Voters will have to write in their names on the space provided on the ballot to cast their vote for a write-in.
Any potential write-in candidates have until Friday, October 26th to register with County Clerk Eric Haynes or the Secretary of State to be eligible to be considered as an official candidate.
