Kidd signs up for re-election
McCreary County Board of Education member Brandon Kidd officially filed his intention to run for re-election last week.
Kidd, representing the 2nd Educational District is the only filing for the post as of press time. School Board candidates have until next Tuesday, August 14 to register at McCreary County Clerk Eric Haynes’ Office to appear on the ballot in November.
Kidd has served two terms on the Board of Education after first being elected in 2010. For the past several years he has served as the Chair of the Board.
District 4 representative Rhonda Armijo has yet to file for re-election, but Lori Foster has registered for the seat in that district.
In other election news, David L. Jones has filed for re-election to the McCreary County Soil Conservation Board.
No new write-ins have declared for other races since the last update, leaving the total number of write-ins at six for this fall.
Write-ins will not appear on the ballot. Voters will have to write in their names on the space provided on the ballot to cast their vote for a write-in.
Any potential write-in candidates have until Friday, October 26th to register with County Clerk Eric Haynes or the Secretary of State to be eligible to be considered as an official candidate.
