Sheriff Randy Waters reports the arrest of one Stearns individual as a result of a drug investigation on Inman Neal Road late Tuesday night.
Francina Z. Sparks, 38, was arrested and charged with trafficking in a controlled substance and other charges following the investigation.
Sheriff Waters stated the residence had been identified as a possible location where drug sales were ongoing. Sparks was placed in to custody initially on an outstanding warrant, but a further search of the residence and her belongings produced evidence of the trafficking.
Uncovered in the search were several items of drug paraphernalia, including scales, pipes, syringes and glass bottles with residue inside as well as a quantity of methamphetamine.
In addition to the trafficking charges Sparks faces counts of possession of drug paraphernalia, illegal possession of a legend drug, possession of a controlled substance, and public intoxication of a controlled substance.
Deputies Darrell Loudermilk, Cody Stephens and Tommy Lewis assisted with the investigation.
Sparks was lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
