A homeowner got an unpleasant surprise Tuesday afternoon after checking on a property, only to find a pair of unwelcome guests apparently trying to live in the home.
Sheriff Randy Waters stated he responded to a call on Upper Shirt Factory Road around 2:45 p.m. after a citizen called 911 to report finding a pair of male individuals illegally staying in a trailer she owned.
The caller reported going to the property and finding the lock on the door broken and the two males inside the residence. She left the home and alerted authorities.
When the Sheriff arrived a few minutes later the two males were attempting to leave, but were apprehended without incident before they could get away.
The homeowner stated she had caught the two on the property previously and advised them to stay away, but they apparently did not heed the warning.
Nathanial Cordell, 39, and Seth Cordell, 36, were both charged with burglary 3rd degree. Nathan Cordell was also charged with possession of a controlled substance after the Sheriff found a white powdery substance in his pocket.
Both were lodged in the Leslie County Detention Center.
