Special meeting could decide Cash’s future

Multiple sources have indicated to the Voice that there will be a special called meeting of the McCreary County Board of Education Friday night to potentially discuss Superintendent Michael Cash’s contract and future with the School District. The Voice has been unable to independently verify the information as there was no one in the Central Office Wednesday morning who could confirm that a meeting had been called. The Voice had previously submitted an open records request to be notified of any called meetings. By law the Board must notify media and public of any meetings at least 24-hours in advance.
Rumors of a supposed video showing the Superintendent in a compromising position have widely circulated throughout the county this week. Again, several independent and reliable sources have confirmed the existence of a video that was reportedly sent to some members of the Board, but the Voice has not seen the video or its contents at this time. The reported video is apparently the reason for calling the special meeting.
More details will be forthcoming on this developing story as they emerge.
