Drug charges top indictments

Drug charges led the indictments this month as 10 of the 12 indictments released by the McCreary County Grand Jury Monday involved either the trafficking of or possessing of illegal narcotics. A dozen individuals were charged with drug offenses this month, while two others were indicted on charges of theft and impersonating an officer.
Sarah Lyons, of Whitley City, was indicted on charges of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale and items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on February 2.
Vernon Cross, of Whitley City, and Stacey Posey, of Oneida were indicted on counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine and items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on January 23. Posey was also charged with Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants for allegedly operating a motor vehicle on the public highways while under the influence.
Susan LaLonde, of Pine Knot was indicted on counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence of Intoxicants and Criminal Mischief after allegedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine, items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances, operating a motor vehicle on the public highways while under the influence and knowingly and unlawfully damaging a parked vehicle on January 30.
George and Grace Ann Wilson, both of Stearns, were indicted on counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine for the purpose of sale and items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on March 21.
Grace Ann Wilson was also charged with one count of Tampering With Physical Evidence for reportedly destroying, mutilating, concealing, removing or altering physical evidence which would have been used in an official proceeding.
Matthew Sumner, of Pine Knot, was charged with of Possession of a Controlled Substance and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine and items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on February 4.
James Wilson, of Pine Knot, was indicted on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Substance and one count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for allegedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine and Xanax as well as items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on February 28.
Glendon Kidd, of Pine Knot, was charged with enhanced counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance Second Degree, both while in possession of a handgun, as well as a count of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia for reportedly being found with quantities of methamphetamine and Suboxone – for the purpose of sale, as well as items commonly used for the ingestion and/or distribution of illegal controlled substances on May 8.
Amy Creech, of Pine Knot, was indicted on two counts of Possession of a Controlled Susbstance First Degree for allegedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine and an unknown powder substance with the consistency and physical characteristics of Fentanyl on April 5.
April Coffey, of Whitley City, was charged with a count of Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree for reportedly being found with a quantity of methamphetamine on April 5.
Anthony Perry, of Parkers Lake, was indicted on counts of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance First Degree and Fleeing or Evading Police for allegedly being found with a over 2 grams of methamphetamine and knowingly and unlawfully failing to obey signals of Constable Cody Stephens to stop running in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials on May 1. Perry was also charged with being a Persistent Felony Offender after previous convictions in McCreary County Circuit Court in 2004, 2005, 2006 and 2015.
Mark Powers, of Parkers Lake was charged with Impersonating a Police Officer for allegedly putting on a utility belt and badge on April 12 and pretending to be a deputy, while knowing he was not authorized to do so.
Dillard Akers, of Somerset, was indicted on one count of Theft by Deception for allegedly obtaining a vehicle by deception of a value of $500 or more on May 1.
