For the second time in less than two weeks a McCreary County emergency responder is hospitalized following a serious injury.
McCreary County EMS Director Jimmy Barnett confirmed that Brent Corder, a veteran medic with the McCreary County Ambulance Service was injured in a Friday evening motorcycle accident.
Barnett stated Corder was apparently returning home from a motorcycle ride in Tennessee when he was involved in a single-vehicle accident, just after he crossed the state line.
Corder was airlifted to the University of Tennessee Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
Corder’s fiancé Allison Sweet said Monday Corder is expected to make a full recovery, but is still experiencing a lot of pain as a result of the accident.
According to Barnett, Corder has been working for the McCreary County EMS for about 10-years, and was a valuable and respected member of the staff.
