The newest addition to economic development for McCreary County is slated to have a grand opening celebration next week and will open its doors to the public to show off the new facility. The Fibrotex plant, under construction since last fall, is finally ready to begin operations and will host a special ceremony next Thursday at 9:00 a.m. Working in partnership with Outdoor Venture Corporation, the company secured a multi-million dollar contract with the United States military to produce high-tech camouflage netting systems and is expected to add 350 jobs to the county over the next decade.
