Occupational tax numbers for the first month of the new fiscal year appear to show a strong start as more than $172,000 was added to the General Fund for the month.

The collections are more than $70,000 ahead of July last year and the highest July totals since the tax was initiated. In 2018 just over $101,000 was collected for the month and $125,000 in 2017. The previous highest July collections came in 2015 when $151,000 was added to the General Fund.
