July OC Tax strong start

Occupational tax numbers for the first month of the new fiscal year appear to show a strong start as more than $172,000 was added to the General Fund for the month.
According to figures released by Judge Executive Jimmie Greene’ Office a total of $259,431.80 was collected through July, with $86,477.27 dedicated to the Jail Fund and the remaining $172,954.53 going to the General Fund.
The collections are more than $70,000 ahead of July last year and the highest July totals since the tax was initiated. In 2018 just over $101,000 was collected for the month and $125,000 in 2017. The previous highest July collections came in 2015 when $151,000 was added to the General Fund.
