Photos by Eugenia Jones
As of Saturday evening, more than one hundred families, including 270 children ,had received gifts of toys, clothes, and other items from the Good Shepherd Catholic Mission Christmas Party. Families were invited or signed up for the Party through Head Start, Family Resource Centers, or the Christian Care Center. Additionally, the Mission Party provided needed items and gifts to twenty families in the McCreary County Health Department’s HANDS program. In addition to gifts, families attending the party were able to enjoy party food and visiting with Santa. The Good Shepherd Catholic Mission has hosted their Christmas Party event for more than forty years. This year, groups from Kentucky, Ohio, Illinois, Georgia, and Connecticut assisted the local mission by furnishing gifts and volunteering at the party.
