The Kentucky State Police is investigating a possible domestic shooting on Harry Waters Road in Whitley City late Friday night.
According to a KSP spokesperson, officers responded to a residence around midnight Friday after receiving a complaint of a domestic situation involving a handgun. Upon arrival they found a male subject suffering from a gunshot wound to the groin.
Sources say the husband and wife got in to an argument in bed, with the male reportedly pushing his wife from the bed. As he came around to the side of the bed, the wife reportedly reached for a gun on the nightstand and discharged it into his groin.
The male victim was transported to the Lake Cumberland Regional Hospital for treatment of his wound. He has since been released.
No charges against either party have been filed as of press time as the investigation continues.
