The Kentucky Department of Corrections has issued an alert to all Kentucky law enforcement offices that James Allen Ball, 37, has escaped a Louisville re-entry center, just weeks before he was expected to be released.
The DOC advised Ball escaped from CTS-Russell, a community transitional services facility designed to provide support for inmates soon to be released from the state prison system.
Ball, described as 5’ 9”, weighing 160 pounds, with blue eyes, black hair and tattoos on both arms, chest and back, has family in Pine Knot and could be attempting to make his way back to the area,
Ball was convicted in 2016 on counts of burglary, theft by unlawful taking over $500 and criminal mischief. He was sentenced to seven years, but became eligible for early release through probation and was transferred to the CTS facility in anticipation of release.
According to court documents he was scheduled to be released in August.
