3 new cases in County

Three new Coronavirus cases in the County were reported Wednesday, all in self-isolation. The ten county Lake Cumberland District currently has 48 active cases across 9 of the 10 counties. Of those 48 cases, 8 are asymptomatic. The total new cases in the district increased by 7. The district has had a total of 322 cases with 27 deaths attributed to the Coronavirus.
Adair now has 8 cases with 2 hospitalized, Casey has 4 cases with 0 hospitalized, Clinton is reporting none, Cumberland and Green each have 1 case, Pulaski has 11 cases, Russell has 3 cases with 1 hospitalized, Taylor has 14 cases and Wayne reports 3 cases. The death count in the 10 county district is 27.
Statewide there have been 14,141 Covid-19 cases and 537 deaths. 315 new cases were reported Wednesday statewide.
New guidance was issued beginning next week for many venues. Beginning June 29 restaurants and bars can increase occupancy to 50%. Guidance for gatherings of 50 or fewer people, expanded youth sports and businesses that opened at 33% capacity is expanded to 50% can be found at kycovid 19.ky.gov.
So far, seven churches in the 10 county area have cases associated with them. These have resulted in 37 positive cases, 627 close contacts, 2 hospitalizations and 1 death. The public is urged to take precautions, wear a mask when out in public, stay 6 feet away from others, wash their hands with soap and water often and stay home if sick. Above all, don’t touch your face. People at risk or the elderly should continue to avoid crowds and public places.
