Grand Jury Indicts 28

The McCreary County Grand Jury met in the regular June session and handed down indictments against 28 individuals.
Tony Goodwin of Corbin, KY was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree-Meth, Possession of a Controlled Substance in an Improper Container and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Michael Ross of Whitley City was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree-Meth, Operating a Motor Vehicle While DUI and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on or about September 30, 2019.
William Daniels and Cassidy Finley of Pikeville, KY were both indicted on charges of Burglary Third Degree by knowingly and unlawfully entering a storage building with the intent to commit a crime on or about the 27th day of March, 2019.
Susan LaLonde of Pine Knot, KY was charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree-by having possession a quantity of Oxycodone, Operating a Motor Vehicle While DUI and Possession of A Controlled Substance Second Degree on June 1, 2019.
Kenney Cooper of Pine Knot, KY and Christine Gregory of Strunk, KY were charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance First Degree-by having a quantity of Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia on or about November 4, 2019.
Matthew Gibson – homeless, David Strunk of Whitley City, Sean Chitwood of Pine Knot and Robert Privett of Pine Knot were each charged with four counts of Burglary Third Degree for entering storage buildings owned by Brian Koger on or about April 11, 2020.
Tyler Tucker of Whitley City is charged with Strangulation First Degree and Unlawful Imprisonment First Degree.
Terence Jeffers is charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking of a value over $500 but less than $10,000 by knowingly and unlawfully taking a 1998 truck owned by Stanley Cox and Theft By Unlawful Taking of a value less than $500 for taking wheels owned by Stanley Cox on or about March 29, 2020.
Briana Giovannini of Las Vegas, NV is charged with Kidnapping a Minor by taking a minor from the custody of the Father and fleeing the State of Kentucky without permission of the court on or about May 17, 2019.
Jimmie Watson of Stearns, KY was indicted for Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
Timothy Hines of Stearns, KY and Jonathan Coffey of Stearns were charged with Burglary Third Degree for entering an outbuilding owned by Cecil Perkins and Burglary Second Degree for entering the residence of Cecil Perkins on January 22, 2020.
Dustin Wilson of Pine Knot, KY was charged with Tampering with Physical Evidence, Burglary Second Degree for unlawfully entering the residence of Travis Waters and Theft By Unlawful Taking of a value less than $500 by unlawfully taking tools, a tool box and log chain owned by Travis Waters on or about February 16, 2020.
Samuel Hurd of Parkers Lake, KY was charged with Assault in the Second Degree upon Wilma West by hitting her in the head with a handgun causing serious physical injury, Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon and Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree on or about May 24, 2020.
Rachel Goad of Strunk, KY and James Ridner of Parkers Lake, KY were charged with Theft By Unlawful Taking over $500 by taking a 2016 Hyundai Elantra owned by Nola Duncan, Fleeing and Evading Police First Degree for failing to obey signals of Sheriff Randy Waters to stop in an attempt to elude law enforcement officials, Fleeing or Evading Police Second Degree, Wanton Endangerment First Degree by wantonly and with manifest indifference to the value of human life engaged in conduct which created a danger of death or serious injury to Sheriff Waters and Deputy Tom Smith and Criminal Mischief Third Degree by damaging a Hyundai Elantra causing pecuniary loss to the owner occurring on or about March 11, 2020.
Dustin Wilson of Pine Knot, KY and Brandon Garland of Strunk, KY were indicted for Theft By Unlawful Taking of a value over $500 by taking a dump truck trailer owned by Tony Cordell and Receiving Stolen Property of a value over $500 or more on or about May 23, 2020.
Jack Roberts of Whitley City, KY and James Murphy of Williamsburg, KY were charged with Receiving Stolen Property over the value of $500 or more for receiving and possessing a tractor trailer and cases of whiskey stolen from B & Z Logistics and Jack Roberts charged with Persistent Felony Offender in the First Degree on or about February 22, 2020.
Ruth Ann Foster of Whitley City was indicted for Allegedly Theft By Unlawful Taking of a Value over $10,000 for unlawfully taking miscellaneous food products owned by McCreary Christian Care Center between the dates of November 16, 2019 and November 30, 2019.
Jimmie Watson of Stearns, KY was charged with Tampering With Physical Evidence by trying to use a vial of urine to provide a sample for a drug test conducted by the Department of Probation and Parole and Persistent Felony Offender on March 11, 2020. On or about April 23, 2020 he was charged with Assault First Degree upon Thomas Smart by shooting him in the face with a shotgun and Persistent Felony Offender First Degree.

The Voice would like to remind our readers that an indictment is not an indication of one’s guilt or innocence, but represents that enough evidence exists in a case to pursue the matter in a court of law.
