New cases continue to pop up

McCreary County has gone from zero active reported cases the beginning of July to daily active cases being reported. The County’s latest count of active cases is 9 with one hospitalized. Lake Cumberland District Health is reporting 182 active cases across the 10 county district with 21 hospitalized. Some counties have seen a decline in cases while other counties have seen a spike in the number of active cases. LCDHD believes the virus continues to be wide spread and urges everyone to help slow the spread by following the guidelines set out by the state and local health departments.
Pulaski County has reported an outbreak in a long term care facility as well as in a private school. Their active cases are reporting 51 with 7 people hospitalized. But Green County has experienced an increase in active cases from 8 to 25 with one hospitalized. Across the ten county area there are currently 182 active cases with 21 hospitalized and 161 in self-isolation. Of those cases, 50 are asymptomatic.
Scott County Tennessee is reporting 65 active cases. The cumulative total cases reported for Scott County is 144 with 2 deaths.
The Lake Cumberland area has reported a cumulative total of 1,507 confirmed cases with 47 deaths and 153 hospitalizations. Statewide the cumulative total since the pandemic started for all reported Covid-19 cases is 40,342 and 818 deaths. The State reports the total number of people tested is 770,382.
