The McCreary County Industrial Development Authority (IDA) continues to pursue establishment of a Teleworks USA Hub in McCreary County. Teleworks USA is a company that provides accelerated, remote-work preparatory workshops and job placement/career-coaching services in Southeastern Kentucky. During their regular meeting earlier this week, members of the IDA agreed to explore a recent Teleworks USA offer to conduct two $5,000 sessions in McCreary County. The two sessions would provide training and guaranteed job placement for sixty individuals. In addition to the $10,000 fee, the County would be required to provide space with computer access for the sessions. Members of the McCreary County IDA are optimistic a grant can be secured to cover the cost of the two sessions.
In other business, the IDA approved a motion to submit the TVA RDAAP Project Report for 2020/21 for renovation of the Spec Building at the McCreary County Business Park in Pine Knot. IDA members also viewed a South Kentucky RECC Power Vision Video for the Business Park. The video provides site data as well as footage of the spec building’s interior. Drone footage shows five tracts of land along with exterior views of the spec building. The video is designed to entice a business or industry to locate in the Business Park and has been uploaded to the nationwide Zoom Prospector business listing along with other websites.
The McCreary County Industrial Development Authority meets on the first Monday of each month.
