Phillips indicted for Attempted Murder

The McCreary County Grand Jury met in regular session on September 14th and October 12th, 2020 and returned the following indictments.
Christopher A. Phillips was charged by Kentucky State Police on August 1, 2020 with Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Possession of a Stolen Firearm, Fleeing and Evading 1st Degree and Resisting Arrest. The incident occurred in Whitley City on the morning of Thursday, August 1st when KSP Trooper Craig Reed attempted to arrest Phillips who was wanted on felony charges. Phillips shot at Trooper Reed who returned fire while Phillips ran from the area. Phillips was located a short time later and taken into custody. Neither Phillips nor Trooper Reed were injured in the incident.
The McCreary County Grand Jury indicted Christopher Phillips with the alleged offenses of Attempted Murder of a Police Officer, Fleeing or Evading 1st Degree, Receiving a Firearm and Resisting Arrest. Phillips is being held in the Knox County Detention Center.
James Sumler was indicted for the alleged offenses of Possession of a Defaced Firearm and Possession of a Handgun by a Convicted Felon.
Allery Castle was indicted for the alleged offense of Theft of Property Mislaid or Delivered by Mistake.
Dustin Perry was indicted for the alleged offense of Burglary 2nd Degree.
Chad Ellis and Henry L. Day were indicted for the alleged offenses of Receiving Stolen Property over $500 and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Jeremiah Olwine and Luke Powell were indicted for the alleged offenses of Fleeing or Evading 1st Degree, Resisting Arrest, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Wanton Endangerment 1st Degree.
Casey Russelburg was indicted for the alleged offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence and Possession of a Controlled substance 1st Degree Oxycodone.
Michael Lyons was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense.
Virgil Allen was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Thomas Jones was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
James Perry was indicted for the alleged offense of Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense.
Nicholas Vanover was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Timothy Ross was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Dylan Barber was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Billy J. Stephens was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Kelly R. Vanover was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle while Under the Influence.
Joshua Angel was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense-Methamphetamine.
Nancy Doran was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense-Methamphetamine, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Oxycodone.
Natasha Worley was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of Drug Paraphernalia and Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Oxycodone.
Katelyn Dodd was indicted for the alleged offense of Receiving Stolen Property-Firearm.
Ricky Ridner was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Jimmy Troxell was indicted for the alleged offense of Escape 2nd Degree and Persistent Felony Offender 2nd Degree.
Christian Anderson was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Daniel Crabtree was indicted for the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
John Q. Chitwood was indicted for the alleged offense of Burglary 3rd Degree, Criminal Mischief 1st Degree and Theft by Unlawful Taking under $500.
Gavin W. Kidd was indicted for the alleged offense of Three Counts of Assault 1st Degree and Operating a Motor Vehicle While Under the Influence.
Michael Lyons was indicted for the alleged offense of Receiving Stolen Property over $500 and Persistent Felony Offender 1st Degree.
Jacob Troxell was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine.
Eileen Dick was indicted for the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.
Tosha Maxey was indicted for the alleged offense of Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 1st Degree, 2nd Offense-Methamphetamine and Trafficking in a Controlled Substance 3rd Degree.
Brandon Stephens was indicted for the alleged offense of Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st Degree-Methamphetamine and Possession of a Controlled Substance 2nd Degree.
