School Board Meets

On Monday, the McCreary County Board of Education met briefly for their regular monthly meeting.
During the Superintendent’s communication to the Board and public, Superintendent Corey Keith expressed the following:
-Spring break is scheduled for April 5-9.
-The District is making progress on their facility plan. School districts’ are required to develop facility plans at least every four years.
-The District is currently surveying parents/students about interest in summer school. A robust summer school program is planned.
-Thanked the staff and community for their support during the COVID-19 pandemic and recent return to classes. Keith said he is “incredibly proud of the staff and community.”
The Board voted unanimously to approve actions by consent including:
-Approval of several bid items.
-Approval of the drug testing contract with Envivo Health.
-Approval of exterior key card access equipment for all schools.
-Approval of exterior door locks for all schools.
-Approval of Standards 5 (Managerial Leadership) and 6 (Collaborative Leadership) for Superintendent’s evaluation in June 2021.
There were no items for discussion during this meeting.
The next regular meeting of the Board of Education is scheduled on Monday, April 26, 2021 at the McCreary County Board of Education.
