Free Bulk Drop Off Days

If you need to dispose of large items at your house, now is the time to do it. McCreary County has scheduled free bulk item drop-off days at the old transfer station in Stearns. The dates are Friday April 16 from 8:00 a.m. until 4:00 p.m. and Saturday April 17 from 8:00 a.m. until noon.
The following guidelines are in place:
-You must have garbage service with Scott Solid Waste.
-Please bring a copy of your most recent bill for faster service.
-The drop-off is for large items: mattresses, old appliances, old furniture, swimming pools, bathtubs, etc.
-No household garbage and no construction waste.
-No hazardous chemicals—paint, oil, etc. The only exception is that you can bring old cans of paint if you first pour the remaining space full of cat litter.
