Traffic stop yields drugs, one arrest

McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters reported that early on the morning of April 3, 2021 he was on a traffic stop with Deputy Alex Jones when they observed a vehicle pulling a trailer without lights and had a flat tire. The officers left the traffic stop, caught up with the vehicle and pulled it over.
The driver was asked to exit the vehicle to show him the problems with his trailer. When the driver exited the vehicle a small baggie fell onto the gravel lot beside the driver. The driver and passengers were detained. The driver was found to be in possession of a crystal like substance, digital scales and drug scales among other items.
Danny Bryant, age 38, of Jacksboro, Tennessee was arrested and charged for the alleged offenses of Trafficking in a controlled substance, 1st Offense, Possession of a controlled substance, 1st Degree, 1st Offense, No tail lamps, Careless driving, Improper display of registration plates, Improper equipment, Drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, Possession of Marijuana.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.
