Sheriff reports drug arrest

McCreary County Sheriff Randy Waters reported that just before noon on April 8, 2021 a call came in of a male slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle at a gas/convenient store parking lot in Pine Knot. Sheriff Waters and Deputy Tom Smith responded to the call and found the male subject outside of the vehicle who appeared to be intoxicated.
Lewis T. Souleyrette, age 48, of Pine Knot, KY was arrested and charged with the alleged offense of public intoxication. Souleyrette asked the officers to look in the vehicle for his cell phone. The officers found 4 Grams of what appeared to be methamphetamine in the seat where he had been sitting.
Souleyrette was charged for the alleged offenses of Possession of a controlled substance, 1st offense, Methamphetamine, Possession of a controlled substance, 3rd degree, Drug paraphernalia – buy/possess, Public intoxication – controlled substance (excludes alcohol), Persistent felony offender.
The McCreary County Sheriff’s Office is in charge of the investigation.
